Taste-But Boggling Brownies

"All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!"
- Lucy, from Peanuts

When the unthinkable happens and I actually get the chance to cook, (Say, on an afternoon when I get home from work and decide to give myself a day off from school...) I do this exceedingly annoying thing. I pore over magazines, websites, cookbooks, blogs, and my ol' trusty binder of recipes looking for that perfect recipe.

Back in the day, when I had nothing to do but loaf about, read novels, eat truffles and bake at my leisure, the choosing was much easier. Man, I miss those days.

Not really.

Just the part where I wasn't a big blob of agonizing indecision.

That being said, I think I [finally] made the right decision with this:

Do you agree?

Well, you will once you taste them. Fact. Why? Because this dessert involves chocolate, optional nuts, and homemade caramel sauce.

(Incidentally, one of my core beliefs is that nuts should always be optional.)

(I think it's vastly important to have such philosophical values, don't you?)

So, with...

...Or without...

...I'll leave that to your discretion.

But I think we can all agree that the caramel sauce...

 ...is non-negotiable.

I found the recipe for the brownies on this delightful blog, and the caramel sauce on epicurious

Mmm, heavy whipping cream. The stuff dreams are made of.

Well. My dreams, anyway.

These brownies? A-mazing.

Print.
Make.
Eat.
Rejoice.

Love,

  3. Oh my gosh. I resisted the urge to stop for donut holes on my way back to work from dinner break. And then I see this! I'll take it as a sign from God that I must try them.
